The Common Kingsnake(Lampropeltis getulus) is found throughout the

whole U.S.A. It is found in deserts, forests,and rocky areas. It is very similar looking to its cousin, the california kingsnake, which is native to the mojave desert and other parts of california.


CHARACTERISTICS

The common kingsnake can grow from .9-2.1 m.(3-7 ft.). This snake is told by the pattern of alternating black and white bands running the length of its body, though an all black variant is found in southern Arizona. It is active in mornings and afternoons, though it hunts during hot nights.

DIET

The common kingsnake's diet primarily consists of small mammals, rodents, lizards, and rattlesnakes.
